Book Week

This year’s Book Week theme is ‘Australia: Story Country’. Over the holidays, the library has been transformed with displays on this theme, made by the very talented Ms Peta Peters. A Rainbow Serpent adorns the front doors of the building and a Book Week banner greets people when they walk in. In the middle of the library a large campsite has been set up with logs and rocks and branches and two Aussies telling stories around the fire. On the back wall is a large map of Australia showing the setting of well-known Australian books. Over the next few weeks, students will be exploring this theme in library classes and examining the nominees for Book of the Year. In Book Week itself (Week 7) there will be a range of activities and competitions and, leading up to Book Week, we have four visiting authors and the Book Fair. Stay tuned for more details.
