Dear parents and students in Years 8 and 9,

We are excited to bring your attention to an opportunity that could spark your child's creativity, innovation and problem-solving skills! The Big Ideas Challenge, run by QUT and Future Anything, is a one-day event that challenges students to develop innovative solutions using Sports Tech to address key community challenges.  This will run on 17th July 2023.

This fast-paced and hands-on event will allow students to learn from some of Australia's most inspiring changemakers, while also explicitly developing their enterprising thinking and human-centered design skills. The day will culminate in teams of students pitching their solutions to a panel of judges in a 'Shark Tank'-style pitch experience.

The event is open to all students in Years 8 and 9, particularly those studying Enterprise, Business Economics and STEM. We encourage you to register your interest via this link

Participation in the Big Ideas Challenge is an excellent opportunity for students to apply their knowledge and skills in a real-world context, as well as build networks with like-minded students and industry professionals.

We hope you will consider registering your child's interest in this exciting opportunity, and we look forward to seeing the innovative solutions that emerge from the day!

Mr Wes Warner, Head of Department – Innovation, Entrepreneurialism and Business
