One of the things that many people have missed over the last two years has been the opportunity to be community together.  Prior to COVID, we may have taken for granted the opportunity to connect with a large range of people.  Now when we connect or attend large events, there is a greater sense of celebration and freedom.  Being together in community occurs one connection at a time.  Each of us creates community by inviting others to connect through conversation or engaging in activities together.  Welcoming a broad range of people into our community of connection enriches lives. In Queensland schools, we have been fortunate to be able to continue to come together on campus to learn. One of the important gifts we give each other as staff, students and parents is the gift of welcome and inclusion.
God’s encouragement to love our neighbour as ourselves, involves the extension of welcome and hospitality beyond our immediate friendship circle. We create possibility through generosity in our connections within our community and beyond.
