ANZAC Day – More Than A Day To Remember

A key theme of the ANZAC Day messages was the encouragement for people to not only remember the sacrifice of our service men and women but also to embrace the ANZAC Spirit by putting others before ourselves. We show greatest respect for what we have been given by making the best use of our talents in service of others. ANZAC Day also helps us to be grateful for the freedoms we experience and the richness of our lives. The bleakness of imagery from the battlefields of war contrasts sharply with the beauty of nature we encounter every day and the peacefulness of our community existence. 

As we commemorate ANZAC Day we remember the sacrifice of service men and women and their families. It is also helpful for us to remember the fullness of what we have been given and to respond with generous hearts, hands and feet.
