Musical Camp A Huge Success

Last weekend, 48 cast, crew, staff, guest presenters and ex-student helpers spent intensive time in rehearsal for ‘Sideshow’ the Musical. Over the three days, the group bonded brilliantly and with expert help from Lucy Clough, an industry professional and graduate of the Conservatorium in Musical Theatre, they honed vocal, movement and performance skills. Thank you to everyone involved for your energy, talent and sheer hard work. Thank you also to the 50 or so parents and family members that came along to watch our little show and tell.

‘Sideshow’ the Musical will take to the stage at The Events Centre, Caloundra in May. Tickets will be on sale from Tuesday 18th April. Stay tuned for more details!

Meet the Cast

Year 12 student Ally Hickey is playing Daisy Hilton, one of the conjoined twins. “Daisy wants to be famous and is really driven to succeed,” Ally says. When asked what she loves most about the production process, Ally said “I love being able to show other students in our community what we do”. There are three themes in the musical that resonate with Ally, “Acceptance, the concept of love and Daisy’s passion to follow her dreams”.

Year 12 College Captain, Alli Whitmore, is playing the part of Violet Hilton, the other conjoined twin. “Violet is the complete opposite to Daisy, she is a bit of an introvert and just wants to lead a normal life, settle down and fall in love,” Alli said. When asked what she loves most about the production process, Alli said, “I like connecting with students from different grades and forming friendships”. The theme that resonates with Alli the most is acceptance. “This theme of acceptance fits really well with the Year 12 cohort’s goal for the year,” Alli said.
