Congratulations Graduating Class of 2015!
The Year 12 students were involved in a range of activities and events in their final week at Pacific Lutheran College.
Last Tuesday through to Thursday, Year 12 students took part in alternative days. A number of guest presenters spoke with students about various life topics and they completed a number of activities including:
· Year 12 Graduation Art Canvas (led by Mrs Denise McMahon, Madi Bell and Bronte McMahon).
· Commonwealth Bank Start Smart presentation (Mr Jaime Benjamin).
· RACQ – Free2go presentation.
· Life Awareness Workshop with Queensland Police (led by Senior Constable Darryl Campbell, Sunshine Coast District Traffic Branch).
· Red Frogs Chaplaincy Network (education regarding safety at post-school events and connections to Beyond Blue).
· Year 12 dance practice (led by Dayle and Sharon from Dance Obsession).
· Pastoral Care Group farewells.
· Connections with Year 2 (led by Mrs Leonie Prout and Mrs Julie Darr).
· Headspace presentation (Krista Flick, Youth and Community Officer).
· Labyrinth walk (Pastor Rick Zweck).
· 2015 School Leavers’ Guide (Mal Brough MP).
· Year 12 students verse staff volleyball game.
· Cervical Cancer Awareness Program (Australian Cervical Cancer Foundation).
Thank you to all staff, parents and students for their assistance with the smooth running of events over the week.
In particular, there were many staff and some students who assisted leading up to and during the various Year 12 events and I really appreciated the contributions from all colleagues. Particularly to Mrs Leanne Bevis, Ms Angela Hill, Mr Alan Palethorpe, Mrs Colleen Beattie, Mrs Aleisha Tuaine, Ms Carolyn Sainty, Mrs Steph Scarlett, Miss Anita Morton, Mrs Denise McMahon, Dr Peter McMahon, Mrs Melissa Evans, Mrs Jacqui Layfield, Mrs Leah Croke, Mrs Michiko Hauser, Mrs Lesley Onyett, Mr Nico Prinsloo, Mr Mark Hauser, Mrs Tanya Crooks, Mr Brendan Delaney, Ms Sue Arahill, Mr Gary Graves, Mrs Tina Cox, Mrs Elley Wood and the Year 11 Hospitality students – a warm and heartfelt thank you to all.
It was very pleasing to walk the secondary schooling journey with the students and I thank parents and families for their support. Buen Camino!
