Basketball Finals

Last week, five of our secondary basketball teams played off for places in the grand finals. The Junior Boys had a tough game against a very tall Caloundra State High. Despite being a few players short, the boys managed to pull of a very good one point win at the end of the game, thanks to some clutch free throw shooting from Joey Hock. They now take on Mountain Creek in the grand final on Friday.

The Junior Girls easily accounted for Immanuel Lutheran College to cruise into the A Division grand final against Sunshine Coast Grammar School for the second-straight year. The Senior B Girls had a similar victory over St Andrews #2, to advance to the finals against St Andrews #1 this Friday night.

In the Senior Boys match, Pacific took on Mountain Creek and at half time the scores were level at 18-18. It was always going to be a tough match. In the end, the Pacific team managed to keep their composure and win in an epic semi-final (where neither team could edge away from each other until the final minute), winning 21-18. The boys now take on Mountain Creek Black on Friday at Matthew Flinders Anglican College.
