A focus of the College is to equip young people to thrive in a rapidly changing world, where the requirement for ongoing learning, flexibility, creativity and entrepreneurship will be increasingly important. As well as moving forward with flexible and personalised approaches to learning, the College has also created two positions that will lead innovation and entrepreneurialism in the College. We congratulate Mr Wes Warner and Mr Damian Davis who have respectively been appointed as the Head of Innovation and Entrepreneurialism K-12 and Head of Innovation and Entrepreneurialism K-5. These two leadership positions aim to support staff, students and parents as they engage in creative, innovative, interdisciplinary learning within our community. Having the capacity to be innovative and entrepreneurial will give our young people an important edge in the future. These positions will support the leadership of others within the community to continually move forward in the areas of Digital Technology, Robotics, Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and The Arts including project based interdisciplinary learning.

This month we celebrate the conclusion of the Pacific Soccer and PLC Netball Club seasons. Both of these parent-run clubs have provided opportunities for our young people to develop character and sporting skills while building friendships and connections. It was exciting to watch the U11 Pacific Eels soccer team win the grand final on Saturday, surrounded by a large contingent of passionate Pacific supporters. We congratulate the Eels on their success and all netball and soccer players who have grown through their commitment and engagement with our two clubs. Thank you to the coaches and managers of both clubs and particularly the management committees, very capably led by Mr Trevor Colton, Mr Ian Barnes and Mrs Jenny Lee. The dedication of both committees has provided rich opportunities for our young people and helped to shape community. We thank all parents for their support.

There was tremendous energy at the Celebrating Dads’ Breakfast last week. Conversation flowed as people enjoyed the great food provided by our Hospitality Department and music provided by our students. The dads of our Prep – Year 2 children then enjoyed the opportunity to join in the Junior College chapel and connect with their children in class for the morning. We thank our dads for their support and the Hospitality, Music and P-2 staff and students for making the day such a special one.

Saturday evening’s Through the Ages Trivia Night was another time for connection and fun with parents, staff, past students and friends of the College enjoying dressing up and stretching their brains. Thank you to Mrs Jenny Lee and her team for the hours of work that went into making the night such a success. Thank you to our community for your support.

As we continue to grow together, may God equip us to be people of care, compassion and hope.
