This term the foundation skill children will be investigating is ‘organisation’. As parents, we all recognise the necessity of being organised. Students also need to be organised if they are to be successful. Being organised is about setting goals and effective time management. Parents can assist children in learning to be organised by creating routines. Simple routines such as packing bags the night before school can help avoid stress in the mornings. Displaying planners or organisers on walls in the kitchen or in a child’s bedroom will also assist in developing organisation skills and positive habits of mind. You can list the days on which children need to wear their HPE uniforms and due dates of class work.
