Congratulations to the Year 8 girls SCISSA volleyball team who made it through to the grand finals this week. The girls came up against Glasshouse Christian College (GCC) who had not lost a game all season. The first set was a one-sided affair with GCC winning easily, 25-11. After the girls’ nerves had subsided in the second set, Pacific fought back hard and turned the tables, winning the second set 25-12 to force the final into a deciding third set. In a very close match, the Pacific girls walked away victorious, winning by only two points in what was an incredible match.

Both teams played very well and in a great spirit, representing their schools tremendously. Well done to Shyla Cooke, Shani Shuttleworth, Rebecca Pike, Kiarnah Pearce, Atlanta Hopewell, Katelyn Connors, Rebecca Lewis and Lily Croke (injured) for a great season and for being our first ever SCISSA volleyball champions! Thank you to Mrs Debbie Turner and Mrs Michiko Hauser for working with the girls this season.

Next Term (beginning in week 1) the Year 11/12 SCISSA volleyball season starts. Pacific has six teams playing in this competition and we wish them all the best for their season next term.
