Rugby

Congratulations to our U14’s and U16’s teams who had their fixtures last night and continued to demonstrate excellent Rugby spirit. Our U14A girls had an exceptional showing, winning both their games against Grammar and St Andrews. The U14B girls unfortunately went down in both their fixtures, however should be proud of their enthusiasm and enjoyment they showed in their games. Our U14 boys continued to improve across the night, with a tight margin loss against Grammar in their final game. Our U16A boys are undefeated so far this season, posting convincing wins against NCC, SCC, GCC and GSLC, well done boys! Our U16B boys had a good opportunity to mesh together as a team and are starting to play more and more cohesively. Finally, our U16 girls improved incredibly across the night, with a large portion of the team brand new to Rugby, it was fantastic to watch them grow in confidence and skill. Thanks again to all our teacher, student and parent supporters across the night who are always actively involved and continue to contribute to positive culture at our games.

Mr Josh Cummins, Head of Rugby

Water Polo

Congratulations to our Junior Boys’ Water Polo Team for another strong win in their competition. They remain undefeated this season and are tracking well for a finals berth. Our Intermediate Girls team will be looking to bounce back next week after a tough loss against a quality opposition.

Netball

Thanks for all students who came to our Intermediate Trials on Tuesday. We have rescheduled the Senior Trials to the 11th November due to clashes with Rugby 7’s and injuries. We look forward to having our Year 6 and 7 students out on the court on Tuesday the 29th for their Junior Trials. If you have any questions, please email Michelle Dufty at mdufty@pacluth.qld.edu.au

Sport Awards

It won’t be too long until we are able to celebrate the sporting achievements of our many talented PLC students at our annual Sports Awards Assembly held on the 14th November. This year we are welcoming past student and Australian U23 World Cup and Brisbane Roar player Alicia Woods to be a part of our celebrations. We will be awarding our team MVP and Coaches’ Awards, Sporting Endeavour awards and Champion Athletes for the year. We look forward to our community coming together to celebrate our students’ accomplishments in sport.
