Rugby News

Last night we continued with a strong competition amongst both our Rugby girls and boys teams. Our U18 girls competed at Peregian against some strong Nambour Christian College, Flinders and Grammar teams. The girls showed excellent improvement each week and had some narrow victories and losses, a great effort! Our U13 boys and girls continued their strong run in the competition, with the boys going undefeated against Grammar and St Andrews and the girls posting some convincing wins and a narrow loss. Our U14 boys had some tough opposition, with some absent players due to year 9 camp, however it’s great to see a few individuals rise to the occasion. Finally, our U14 girls A and B teams continued their run of dominance with our U14B’s continuing their undefeated streak in the season and our U14A girls continuing with 2 wins against Immanuel and Glass-House and unfortunately going down to a strong Flinders team. All players should be proud of their efforts and I look forward to the continued growth at the remaining rounds at Kawana.

Sunshine Coast at the Queensland Schools State Athletics Championships

Last week, 15 students from Pacific qualified to represent the Sunshine Coast at the Queensland Schools State Athletics Championships in Brisbane. Notably, 12 of these students chose to compete, marking the highest number of representatives from our College in history. Athletics at Pacific is becoming increasingly popular, with many students training on Monday afternoons during Term 1 and Term 2 under the guidance of our Pacific athletics coaches. This season saw several outstanding individual and team results. Well done to all our students who competed at the recent QLD Track and Field Championships.

Making it to this level of competition is an incredible result and students should be proud of their achievements: Please see some of the results from the 13 – 19yrs students below:

Alexis Jarrett: 4th High Jump

Eloise Bulmer: 15th High Jump

Eva Pressland: 4th High Jump

Gemma Bryce: 14th  Tetrathon
