Club Sport

Pacific Lutheran College has several sports development programs outside of school hours. These programs encourage participation, giving students the opportunity to be part of a team, and learn basic skills of the game.

The parent-led Pacific FC Soccer and PLC Netball Clubs compete on Saturdays in community competitions throughout the Sunshine Coast.

PLC Netball Club

All teams have commenced training for this season and the girls are all looking awesome!! We have been making changes to the teams over the past couple of weeks and are now confident that we have a great combination within each team. Thank you to all parents and players for your understanding and support during this process. Please contact your coach or Netball President with any queries or concerns with your team arrangements.

The first grading games on 9 March is not too far away now. Exact game times have yet to be released but will be communicated once available. Please let your coach or manager know if you will not be available to play.

Parents, supporters, and caregivers play an essential part in positively encouraging and supporting children’s participation in their chosen sport. Some ideas on how to positively support their children include:

• Support your child enthusiastically.
• Encourage your child without expecting perfection.
• Be a good role model – to young people and other parents.
• Promote fair play.
• Acknowledge the efforts of all the young people.
• Encourage your child to play by the rules.
• Support the coaches and officials (particularly young officials)
• Share challenges or criticisms (of officials, coaches, or players) in a constructive way.
• Encourage other spectators to be positive.
• Challenge or report poor side-line behaviour.
• Allow the coaches to coach.
• Support and respect your child’s ambitions in sport.
• Remember that this is your child’s sporting experience – not yours
• Celebrate and support your child as a whole person who needs a range of experiences both inside and outside sport.
