In February 2023, the National Immunisation Program changed the recommended human papillomavirus vaccine (HPV) schedule for Year 7 students from two doses to one dose. The change is based on advice from the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation.

In Queensland, the HPV vaccine is primarily delivered through the free Queensland School Immunisation Program (SIP).

The Chief Health Officer, Queensland has advised that from the beginning of the 2023 school year, the SIP will provide the recommended one dose of HPV.

Year 7 and Year 10 vaccinations will proceed on May 17th, 2023. The Year 7 cohort will receive HPV and dTpa vaccinations. NO further vaccinations will be scheduled through the year.

Vaccination forms have been sent home to Students in Year 7 and Year 10. Completed forms need to be returned by Friday 17th March, 2023. If vaccination forms are not returned by Friday 17th March, your child will not be vaccinated at school.
