Orchestra Workshop

Last Friday evening, three Pacific violinists, Kate Monroe, Sebastian Box and Eden Williams, were invited to be a part of a workshop run by the Australian Romantic and Classical Orchestra in conjunction with the Sunshine Coast Youth Orchestra ‘Chamber Strings’. Students worked on the specialist topic of period performance as well as adapting their bowing techniques to support the writing of the era. The evening culminated in a spectacular concert. Although this workshop was physically demanding (including a three-hour standing rehearsal), all students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and have gained a valuable insight into period performance.
