Child Safety
Child Safety
Road safety is and will always be an important issue, particularly when it relates to our children. Often in the busyness of dropping children to school and hurrying to get to work, our attention is diverted from safety to expedience.
Around the College a number of strategies are in place to help keep everyone safe. At the front of the College each morning and afternoon, ‘lollipop’ attendants’ supervise a road crossing to allow children and adults to cross safely. We ask that all families be mindful of their presence and follow their directions accordingly. Your assistance in keeping our community safe is greatly appreciated.

Signing Students In and Out
Prep – Year 5 students are to be signed out by parents from the P-5 Students area, which is located at the rear of the new Main Reception area.
Communication with Staff
Often, parents need to communicate information to their child’s teachers regarding changes of routine and exemption from participation in sport, specialist lessons or activities. Each morning parents tend to verbally advise teachers of such changes.
To avoid confusion and to ensure students are where they are meant to be, particularly at the end of the day, we ask that parents put all of these changes in writing. There are a number of ways parents can communicate with staff:
- All teachers can be contacted by email;
- Teachers in Prep – Year 2 can be contacted through their class communication books; or
- A short note can be sent with students to pass on to their teacher.
We appreciate your support in assisting teachers with this matter.
Hats
A number of students are presenting to school each day without hats. During breaks students need to wear a hat or they are required to stay out of the sun. Students should also wear their hats when travelling to and from the College. We ask parents and guardians for their assistance with this matter.
