Book Week Competitions

Pizza and movie tickets are on offer in this year’s Book Week competitions for Middle and Senior College students. Book Week is in Week 6 of this term and the theme is ‘Reading is my Secret Power’. Each week from now, we will be posting a new activity on our Book Week page: http://libguides.pacluth.qld.edu.au (password is plc). For each activity completed, students will receive an entry into the draw for a movie pass to Event Cinemas. Any student who completes all five activities will also get an invitation to our Book Week pizza party. This week’s super simple activity involves finding out your super hero name.

This week, across two days, library staff took 55 students to the Voices on the Coast Literature Festival. Students were able to listen to authors speak about their books, see performances, listen to poets and hear from illustrators about how they create their art. During their free time students enjoyed meeting authors and getting their books signed, exploring the University of the Sunshine Coast campus and socialising in the cafeteria. This is always a highly enjoyable and thought-provoking day.
