Earlier this year, Middle College student Jessica Lloyd participated in the National Youth Archery Championships in Armidale. Jessica was the youngest member of the Queensland team and was also nominated to lead the team and carry the flag.

She competed in three events over the five days of competition and placed in each of them:

  • Outdoor Target 1440 – Silver medal
  • Outdoor Short Distance – Silver medal
  • Field – Bronze medal

Based on her scores throughout the year and her achievements at nationals, Jessica has been invited to represent Australia at the TransTasman Archery Championship in Auckland this July.

This is a huge achievement for someone who only took up the sport 18 months ago! We congratulate Jessica on her achievements so far and wish her well as she prepares to represent Australia later this year.
