Over the weekend, all of our 11 teams took to the field to ‘strut’ their stuff. It has been a difficult start to the season as injuries have forced a couple of forfeits, but the break over the holidays has allowed a period of consolidation.

The Labour Day weekend is a traditional break from netball with no games being played. Games will resume on 11th May, with the round being played at Pacific. Team managers will be approaching parents to assist with canteen duties and we ask that you pitch in and assist where possible. The greater the participation, the less work for everybody.

A special note of congratulations to Kaylah Newcombe and Yasmin Richters who coach our U11 Division 2 team, the PLC Ponies. The PLC Ponies are a team of firsts. It is the first time Kaylah and Yasmin have coached a side and the side consists of a group of girls playing their first season of netball. The team spirt, enthusiasm and improvement the girls have demonstrated is a credit to all.

A core foundation of the Club is to provide personal and professional development opportunities for the girls in the form of coaching, umpiring and captain positions. These appointments provide leadership, decision making and confidence building opportunities and we commend all concerned.

Mr Trevor Colton, PLC Netball Club President
