Tell me and I forget...

"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." - Benjamin Franklin

While there is some debate as to whether this quote does in fact come from Benjamin Franklin, it is the sentiment that I wish to share with you after finishing our first Prep to Year 5 conferences for 2019.

Thank you to all parents for being active participants in reflecting and goal setting. By engaging in this process, your children had an authentic opportunity to become active participants in their learning. I have lost count of the number of students who have shared how excited they were to talk with their mum and dad about their learning over the past couple of weeks. As an educator, it is a joy to see students so keen and willing to share their successes and challenges with the most important people in their world – their parents and caregivers.

As always, we do welcome your feedback about the conference process. We also welcome any ideas or suggestions for ways we can improve so that the experience is even richer next time.

Lastly, we thank our dedicated team of teachers across Prep to Year 5 who made these conferences such a success. It is a blessing to be able to work with such a positive and professional group of people. Every blessing for a safe and happy Easter break.
