Matildas Inspire Generations

A generation of young Australian girls are being inspired by the Matildas. Airports, training grounds and sporting venues across the country are now filled with girls wanting to catch a glimpse of their favourite soccer stars and then replicate the performances in their own Saturday games.

Meet the four talented females from our U13 Pacific Razors who go above and beyond each week - Noella, Chloe, Amelie and Heidi. Noella and Chloe have both played for 7 years and Amelie and Heidi for 3. Together these girls train weekly and are always pumped for their match days. We commend them on their efforts and hope they continue to dream big! Thank you to our photographer Shannon for capturing their spirit out on the pitch.

And it’s not just the girls who are being encouraged - just look at the stats coming through regarding Monday night’s clash between the Matildas and Denmark, which drew an audience of 2.29 million people in major cities. This record outshone every National Rugby League grand final and every Origin since 2016, and all but two of the AFL grand finals in the same period, according to analysis by sports industry blogger Jason Lassey. Additionally, across free-to-air television and streaming platform 7plus, 6.54 million tuned in. The average audience was 3.56 million.
